چکیده

Abstract In the quest to improve both aesthetic and functional outcomes for patients, clinical care of full-thickness cutaneous wounds has undergone significant development over past decade. A shift from replacement regeneration prompted skin substitute products, however, inaccurate replication host tissue properties continues stand in way realising ultimate goal scar-free healing. Advances three-dimensional (3D) bioprinting biomaterials used engineering have converged recent years present opportunities progress this field. However, many proposed strategies wound healing involve lengthy in-vitro cell culture construct maturation periods, employ complex deposition technologies, lack credible point (POC) delivery protocols. In-situ is an alternative strategy which can combat these challenges. order survive journey bedside, printing protocols must be curated, biomaterials/cells selected facilitate intraoperative delivery. review, current status in-situ 3D systems applications discussed, highlighting methods employed, biomaterials/cellular components utilised anticipated translational We believe that with growth collaborative networks between researchers, clinicians, commercial, ethical, regulatory experts, potential transform POC treatment.

Bioprinting of skin constructs for wound healing

Extensive burns and full-thickness skin wounds are difficult to repair. Autologous split-thickness skin graft (ASSG) is still used as the gold standard in the clinic. However, the shortage of donor skin tissues is a serious problem. A potential solution to this problem is to fabricate skin constructs using biomaterial scaffolds with or without cells. Bioprinting is being applied to address the ...

3D Bioprinting of Carboxymethylated-Periodate Oxidized Nanocellulose Constructs for Wound Dressing Applications

Nanocellulose has a variety of advantages, which make the material most suitable for use in biomedical devices such as wound dressings. The material is strong, allows for production of transparent films, provides a moist wound healing environment, and can form elastic gels with bioresponsive characteristics. In this study, we explore the application of nanocellulose as a bioink for modifying fi...

Surgical Approaches to Create Murine Models of Human Wound Healing

Wound repair is a complex biologic process which becomes abnormal in numerous disease states. Although in vitro models have been important in identifying critical repair pathways in specific cell populations, in vivo models are necessary to obtain a more comprehensive and pertinent understanding of human wound healing. The laboratory mouse has long been the most common animal research tool and ...
